My Birthday - December 13, 2008

This is right after Dr. Bernstein pulled me out and passed me to my mom.

Mom is pretty excited to see me.  Oh and cut me a little slack here about my black hair and little cone head.  It should all work out in the end.

Bubbles and more bubbles...this breathing thing is different than I am used to.

Wow, what a day.  I started the day like every other day I had ever experienced and that was inside of my mom's tummy.  What a warm spot that is let me tell you.  But today didn't end up like every other day - today was the day I got to meet my mom and dad which was SO much fun.

Around 7:00 AM mom, dad and I checked into Mt. Sinai hospital in
Toronto for what a "screening".  It was a tough night sleeping for mom the night before so she and dad decided to come to the hospital and just check on me.  The nurses checked on mom and realized she was in labor and ready to actually deliver me.  I think she was surprised since I wasn't supposed to come until December 17th!

Sorry about my feet.  Anyone else ever been in a pool for 9 months?  I am also an old soul FYI

Mom was a real super star today and because of her strength I met her at 3:57 PM.  I have to admit, kinda weird going from a warm cocoon to a moderately warm hospital room, but I think I handled it pretty well.  I didn't really cry too much actually because I just fell right back asleep in mom's arms - it was pretty cozy in there too!

But Dad was pretty good too today.  I could hear the doctors telling him what to do and then coaching mom through her delivery.  I also thought it was pretty cool when he cut my umbilical cord - Great job dad.

I have to admit, today has been pretty fun actually and I am looking forward to this place.  Life isn't so bad.  Sleep, eat...sleep, eat...sleep, eat..I think I can handle that for a while.  Plus, I get attention from so many people.  They love holding me and telling me I am so cute...hopefully they stick with me through what I have heard are called the "awkward years" later on in life.  My long fingernails could also be a problem too if I don't get them under control.  Mom, please book me a manicure.

Love,
